Even though her second child isn’t getting out more to meet with their friends in real life, the interaction that they are having in chats, through Facetime and other means of communicating are just fine to build relationships and feel connected to others.

o   It takes 5-7 years of relationship trouble or contemplating divorce before a woman files for divorce

o   75% of divorces are filed by women

o   Women want to feel alive, we want to make deliberate choices, and we want to live more intentionally

o   Women want to model positive relationships for their children

o   The divorce industry is $50B/year

·      Divorce is the dissolving of the most complicated financial contract we will be involved in

·      Divorce does not mean failure; a lot of relationships don’t work out; people shouldn’t feel terrible and ashamed if they get divorced

·      Erin talked about how the fear of the unknown is terrifying in divorce; the fear can turn into anger and a messy divorce which can be avoided through education, self-care, and goal-setting for after the divorce

·      Terri asked Erin for ways in which we can better support our friends and family going through divorce

·      Erin talked about how millennials love their pets and there are pre-nups, post-nups that address this in relationships

There are healthier ways to end marriages than in years past with a shift from attorney-centered to individually centered and leveraging the services of divorce coaches, co-parenting coaches, financial planners, and other non-legal resources.
